The giant panda is a medium-sized black-and-white bear that lives only in the mountainous temperate forests of southwest China. Giant pandas eat a diet of bamboo. The giant panda is one of the most endangered animals on Earth.
Rhinoceroses, or rhinos, are big and ancient-looking and can be dangerous. They can also be shy and are seldom seen. Once there were hundreds of rhino species, but today there are only five.
The People’s Republic of China, or China, is the second largest country on the continent of Asia. It is home to over 1.3 billion people. This is the largest population of any country.


Bamboo is a woody grass. It is the fastest-growing woody plant in the world.
